Mags' Halloween - Poison Apple Nail Art

Hello everyone!

Today i'm kicking off the start of October with some not-too Halloween but still Halloween nail art. I've done poison apples nails. And I even give you 2 ways to do the apples, one is a bit easier that the other.

Somehow the quality of my pics is shit, i blame either Google pictures or Picsart, blah!

The first version on my dominant hand, is the easy version, and ended up being my favorite!

The second version is on my non dominant hand ,and it a bit trickier to draw but still not super hard!

I give you close ups of the apples to have a better idea of what's happening there:

I really like these nails, not too Halloweeny so early in the month but still quite in the theme.

I'll see you next time!

Mags' BPS Review & Autumn Graphic Nail Art

Hello Everyone!

This is the last review of Born Pretty Store. I will be showing you the Mixed Arabesque stamping plate QGirl-033.

I wanted something very simple, quick to do, so I did just an accent nail and I forgot how much it's nice to have just one accent nail. I used the leadlight technique wich consist of stamping first and then coloring. It's faster to do than reverse stamping (less waiting for polish to dry)
You may recognize the polish I'm wearing from the Autumn Flowers Nail Art I've done not too long ago, this gorgeous color will be a staple color for this autumn on my nails! So it might not be the last time you see it!

This plate can be used to do tribal nail art, and you can mix and match some of the images, and they are thin images so you can, like me, use it across like a frieze.

That was it ladies and gents!
I'll see you next time!

Mags' BPS Review & Color Pattern Nail Art

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm reviewing a pattern stamping plate BP21 from Born Pretty Store. This plate has incredible designs, and it was hard choosing one to start with :)

The base is white, then added 3 complementary colors with the dry brush technique and finally stamped the amazing design from the BP21 plate! I absolutely adore the result!

The plate have 4 different images and they are all lovely, I can't wait to use the circles and lines on my nails. Gah it's so pretty!! This is a quality plate, nothing bad to say! You can grab it if you are looking for nice patterns. You can use the code BESG10 if you want to save some moneys (10% off).

I'm usually not too much into coral/orange but from time to time I do enjoy it. Today was one of those days :)

I'll see you next time with the final review, another stamping plate, yeah I know but they have so many great plates!

Mags' BPS Review & Feathers Nail Art

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm reviewing some water decals from Born Pretty Store. I think it is my favorite items on the website. And having them is always so useful when you want nice nail art without any trouble and without spending too much time. It really is a marvelous thing, don't you think?

Isn't it dreamy? This Dollish Polish nail polish is called Brain Freeze and I love it, it's so cute! You do need a base color (usually white, this time I used light grey) as it's very sheer and I hate packing too much polish on my nails.

Those water decals came in a little too late for summer nails so I decided to use the feathers because summer is over here :/ But the feathers do look very nice, but I must admit I can't wait for next summer to use the palm trees, ya'll know how much I love my palm trees nails!  There's really nothing to say about those, they are water decals, they work, they look amazing, grab some if you haven't already! You can use the code BESG10 to get 10%.

Once again I did a mani that didn't required 10 items, and I'm loving that. Simplicity can sometimes be best.

I'll see you next time!

Mags' BPS Review & Wavy Nail Art

Hello Everyone,

I'm back with another nail art and reviews from Born Pretty Store. Today I'll be reviewing the BPS scraper and plate BP50.

This nail art, gold and black is perfect for a party. A very easy nail art, just a plain color and some stamping nothing else, can work very well. We tend to forget that :)

It was my first time using a plastic scraper, but I had no trouble using this one. I liked the fact it was clear. I would have liked it being just a tad harder but that just nitpicking really. It was a breeze to clean up compared to my metal one. So yeah, for less than 1$ there's no arguing! You can use the code BESG10 to grab it if you're interested to get 10% off. (I won't gain anything you using it, it's just for your wallet's happiness :))

This plate is so lovely, I particularly like the waves and leaves but the hearts are very cute too, lot's of possibilities with this plate and with reverse stamping, wouldn't you say?

Lately I've been more into simple nail art that doesn't require 10 items! Just A base coat, top coat (of course), 1-2 colors and a stamping plate or freehand accent nail. There will always have times I want to complicated things but it is not this day!

I'll see you next time!

Mags' BPS Review & Autumn Flowers Nail Art

Hello Everyone!

I know it's been a month since my last entry, but I've been on vacations and then had the business of coming back to work. But I'm here today to do another review from Born Pretty Store, this time on their nail art brush set:

The quality of those brushes is what you'd expect from the price range, nothing special but still decent enough to do detailed work. I will probably end up thinning some of them more, because it seems I can't find the prefect thin enough brush for nail art. But that's not a real problem. I expect them to have a lifespan of few month of heavy use, so really a good price/quality ratio.

Now let's get into nail art, fall is upon us, and it's time to set the neon's to rest and bring out the darker autumn colors. I set my eyes on the Barry M - Berry Cosmo, that I bought in the UK while on vacation. It's the perfect fall berry color. And added some flowers using the medium brush from the set.

Those messy flowers are very easy to make, just by doing small strokes from the center of the flower to the outside. Add some few dots in the middle and leaves and voilĂ , an easy nail art that takes few minutes only.

Don't forget that you can use the code BESG10 on BornPrettyStore to get 10% off.
I'll see you next time for another review  (a stamping plate this time) and a brand new nail art.

Mags' Tropical Nail Art

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm doing a quick post to show you my tropical nail art, or hawaiian shirt nail art :p
I'm going on holidays tomorrow so I wanted bright neon nails to go with the sun and sea! The picture really don't do justice of how bright they really are!

Once again it's a gradient, I can't stop from doing them since I got liquid latex, because clean-up has never been easier. And I also stamped some hibiscus flowers, to fit the tropical theme.

I know, once more, I used the Claire's Neon polishes, you are probably tired of that, but it's been such a long, sunny and hot summer, it's all I have been wanting to wear lately :) Bear with me!!

The suitcase is packed and I'm all ready to go have some great time!! Weeee
I'll see you when I come back!

Fabiana's Yellow Polka Dot Bikini... Nail Art

Hello, everyone!

It has been a while since I posted. Life, getting a new community Google+ up and running, work and a touch of laziness can be a deadly combination.

I haven't stopped doing my nails though.

So for this week's prompt in Nail Art Nation, we have the "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini". Which goes hand in hand with the #techniqueofthemonth "Dotticure". We are having fun with dots!

This was my plan from the start. I wanted to create a mani with a design I would want to see on a bikini. So here it is. Gradient dots over a taupe base of Essie "Chinchilly". :)

Polishes:

Essie "Chinchilly"
OPI "The IT Color"
Cover Girl "Electroglow"
Orly "Glowstick"
Yellow acrylic paint

Now, the best part. If you are looking for a great matte top coat. Look no further than Deborah Lippmann "Flat Top". It is a gorgeous, subtle matte top coat that adds just the right touch of elegance to the mani.

For now, I leave you with this super fun mani and hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Much affection, Fabiana

Mags' BPS Review & Fruity Nail Art

Hello Everyone!

The last review I have for you is for another Born Pretty Store's stamping plate, it the fruits pattern plate from Ia Qin An number Y004.

This plate is perfect for the leadlight technique or the reverse stamping. Its fine sketched lines make for a beautiful finish.

You get strawberries, grapes, apricots, pears, lemons and apples. Yummy!

When I saw how fine the lines were I have to admit I was a bit worried they wouldn't stamp well, but I was pleasantly surprised! You do have to stamp quickly though as there isn't a lot of polish to stamp with so it dries very fast. But nothing impossible.

I decided, to do neon fruits (I know , what a shocker ;p), because why the Hell not, right?

Aren't they so yummy looking?

That's it for the Born Pretty Store reviews for now, I hope you found them useful. Remember you can use the code BESG10 to get 10% off on all the website.
I'd like to thank BPS for sending me those 4 products to review, I do like them all, and I would recommend them. I didn't get paid by or am I affiliated with this company, I just really liked the products.

I'll see you next time!

Mags' BPS Review & Neon Watermarble Nail Art

Hello Everyone,

today I'm doing the third review from Born Pretty Store, and this time it's nail art studs we're going to talk about.

In this very well packaged pot (trust me, the cat dropped it on the floor twice and it didn't open or exploded, phew) you get 2 shapes of studs. The rounds are full neon colors (yellow, orange, pink, green, blue and purple). The squares are 2 colors (1 black + 1 color) with different patterns. As much as the neons ones are fairly common, the square ones are quite original.

The studs are nicely flat and rest nicely on the nails. I have no cons about those really.

And as you know I had to do some nail art because life without nail art is sad!
So I went the easy road as for the studs, and picked the simple neon ones, but then I did a watermarble accent nail, so you can't blame me. I hate watermarble and I very well suck at it, but for some weird reason, I decided to do this (probably got secretly inspired by my friend +Elie Corzo ) and I did it, first try, no mess (well almost, did dip 2 fingers instead of one because i'm clumsy) and the result was great!

The Claire's Neon polishes I used for the watermarble worked incredibly, which let's face it, is a first for me.

Those neons studs over black look amazing!! Remember that you can use the code BESG10 if you're tempted (or for any other temptation ;))

We got one more review to go!
I'll see you next time!

Mags' BPS Review & Beach Nail Art

Hello Everyone,

today I will do the second review out of the four I have for you. This time I am reviewing an ocean themed stamping plate .

This stamping plate is quite different from the usual beach stamping plates, it has a lot of different designs, granted they are not really complementary but you can easily do nice designs with it. If you like it and want it, don't forget that you can use the 10% off code: BESG10.

The images are well sketch and they stamp quite well. The only negative thing about it, is that on the website, they advertise a different image than what you really get, the stripes and stars one. It annoyed me, because it was one of the images that made me want that plate. I could have not mention anything but I'd rather let you know, so you don't get disappointed.

But I was not about to let that stop me! It was really challenging trying to find inspiration today but I decided to start doing my nails and 'winging' it! The results ended up being super pretty, so I guess sometimes, just sit and start doing your nails, inspiration is bound to come!

On a white base, I did the gradient stamping technique using the wavy design and 3 shades of blue, then stamped in black the palm trees and star design. Hey what do you know, palm trees on my nails, again! (someone stop me!!)
And then because i couldn't align the designs to save my life, I had a gap between the end of the nails and the start of the palm trees (yes on all the fingers), I decided to do tiny islands, but then I went even further (told you I was winging it), and decided to frame the whole nails!
Matte top coat on top and bam I was smitten! I love them so much. Blue, check, summer nails, check, palm trees, check, starfish, check, framed nails, check....what's not to love really!!?!

I'm finishing the post with a close up of the design!

Thank you for reading, I'll see you next time!

Mags' BPS Polish Review & Galaxy Nail Art

Hello Everyone!

Born Pretty Store recently contacted me and asked if I was willing to do some reviews of products of my choosing. I said yes, so here's the 1st out of 4 posts of BPS reviews:

Today I am reviewing for you the Born Pretty Store Holo Polish n°217 and I will be using in for some galaxy nail art.

This polish (called on their website chameleon) is a multichrome polish that mostly changes from blue to purple but with also some flashes of dark gold and bright teal. It's a gorgeous mix of colors!

I somewhat managed to capture the whole range of colors of this polish.

Of course, as you all know it's quite hard to capture those kind of polishes, but the pictures are quite true to the colors. You will mostly see blue and purple (which is fine by me :)) and sometimes get a glimpse of some red and gold.

As mentioned on the website, you NEED a black base for this look.

Now for my review, well, it's a solid multichrome, gorgeous colors and great formula. It's only 6ml so don't go expect a big bottle, and unfortunately, as often for small bottles, it's a tiny brush that comes with it and that I really dislike. The polish is quite pricey seeing that it's A- from BPS and B- 6ml but it really is a gorgeous polish to have and makes your nails mesmerizing.
If you'd like it you can use the 10% off code: BESG10

Now, as I am not just going to do a plain boring review, I decided to use this polish doing some nail art, and the first thing that came to min was galaxy nails of course.

This polish is a great background for galaxy or constellation nail art.  Of course it is one of those polish that you can just wear on its own, but you know me, it' all about nail art!

I'll see you soon with another review, of a stamping plate this time!
