HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014!!

Sarah, Jess and Mags would like to wish you all a Happy New Year!

May 2014 be filled with polishes, glitter and joy!

We are looking forward to see you post on NPQueens in the new year all your lovely manis to come, and we would like to thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for your support, your friendship and for making NPQueens what it is today.

You don't realize how much each and everyone of you mean to us!

Happy New Polish Year everyone!!

NPQ Interview - Fabiana N.

Also winner of our last NPQ Quick Quiz, +Fabiana N is sharing with us today her stash and her love of nail art in our NPQ Interview!

- How many polishes do you own?
I refuse to do an exact count because it will really depress me but I know it is over 400.

- What is your favorite color to wear on your nails?
Glittery/holo nude tones are my favorites. Blingy and wearable. :)

- How long have you been doing nail art?
What I would now call nail art It has been about 7 months.

- What is your favorite nail art technique and why?
Ooh, stamping hands down! It is so versatile. You can do simple stamping over a creme base, go all out with a complex design with multiple stamps and colors. The possibilities are endless. The other reason is that I have trouble with creating precise little lines so stamping allows me to have delicate little images in my designs. :)

- Which is your favorite brand of polish and why?
Hrmmm this a tough one... I don't have favorite brands as much as I have favorite collections. The China Glaze Romantique collection and the Color Club Halo Hues are outstanding as far as. I am concerned. Stamping with anything from the Romantique collection is amazing. :) and the Halo Hues... Holos!! :)

- Who is your favorite nail artist on Youtube? (if you have any)

Ah, Robin Moses... She is absolutely amazing. I know I can turn to one of her designs for inspiration when I hit a creative wall. :)

- Why do you like belonging to NPQ ?
Let's see... The wonderful nail art? Supportive members? The constant inspiration? Funny ladies and gents? Fabulous mods who are always thinking of ways to keep us engaged? Fun/frustrating/educational challenges? The active participation of members and mods? Pick one, pick all, they are all reasons why I like, nay.. Love being a member of NPQ. :D

Final thoughts, I hope everyone has a wonderful 2014. You are all rock stars and I am honored to have a chance to get to know a little about each of you through your nail art and posts. :)

NPQ Challenge - 3D Christmas

NPQ Weekly Challenge: 3D Christmas

The stream is gonna be full of beautiful Christmas mani's this week so that design isn't really a challenge. If you want to try something a bit different, play with your nail art accessories and go for Christmas in 3D.

- You can use regular nail accessories: rhinestones, studs, beads, bows.
- Or recycle some real Christmas decorations that didn't make it to the tree: tinsel, baubles, ribbons.
- How about piercing your nail and adding some jewellery. But remember if you don't like it, you're gonna be filing that nail down :(

The 3D can be very subtle and wearable like +Sophie Tate  adorable Santa hats, or totally over the top to make us laugh like the post shared by +Carrie Blatchford. Whatever you do, have a bit of fun with it and don't take it too seriously :)

Please post your pics in the "Weekly Challenge" category and don't forget your clean up.

Merry Christmas! Ho Ho Ho!

NPQ Challenge - Christmas Songs - Showcase

Singing was in order last week on NPQ. And many beautiful Christmas songs were turned into nail art. Here are a few of them along with +Sarah Short funny singing spree:

+Katolin O sets the tune with music on her nails...literally :)

+Magali Neuville-Bisceglia White Christmas nails
"I'll be dreaming of this great mani
Just like the ones you used to do
May your mojo stay with you from tonight
And may all your future mani's turn out right xx" -Sarah

+Keely Gallagher Fairytale of New York nails
"This is handsome
Just so pretty
Nail Polish Queen of New York City
I am struggling
to pick my chin up off the floor

The boys of the NYPD choir
Were singing 'Keely! Yay!'
And this mani really
Took my breath away xx" -Sarah

+Zoë March Deck the Halls nails
"Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Zoe made a gorgeous mani,
Fa la la la la, la la la la" -Sarah

+Jessica Guilbe Winter Wonderland nails
"Jessica, are you listening,
This is great, nails are glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a mani wonderland." -Sarah

"All of the Nail Queens loved him
As they shouted "Great Maneee"
Rudolph the red nose reindeer
Where's his ears? +Nail Artsy!" -Sarah

NPQ Weekly Challenge: Christmas Songs

Tra la I wish it could be Christmas every day tra la la

Nothing gets me more into the Christmas spirit than hearing all the songs. So let's all start singing and ramp up the festive feeling :)

Some inspiration ideas:
- A pop/chart song (old or new)
- A Christmas carol
- Something from the Twelve Days of Christmas

Now, here's the real crunch. You gotta be singing tra la while you are painting tra la la and get Christmasey :D

Please post your pics in the "Weekly Challenge" category and don't forget your clean up to make your mani sing.

Santa Claus is coming to town Tra la la

NPQ Interview - Sandy Kiriaki

Triple time winner of our Quick Quiz, +Sandy Kiriaki is definitely a Queen. She is showcasing her stash today and answering some questions:

- How many polishes do you own?
I consider myself as a collector...my collection is about 246,those are in the picture, but it must be around 250 or 252 as I know I have more polishes in my apartment but right now I don't know where!!!

- What is your favorite color to wear on your nails?
I am a black type...I adore black and sometimes I enjoy purple...Though you haven't seen my nails black

- How long have you been doing nail art?
:it all started 12 years ago when my cousin was in the beauty school and she took me with her as a model...since then I had my nails done with gel or acrylic and beautiful designs from others...But since I moved in another country I stopped almost for a year doing nail art and the last 8 months I am trying to catch up the lost time...

- What is your favorite nail art technique and why?
I don't have a favorite technique...some of them are funny, some of them nerve breaking but they are all unique and I like them all

- Which is your favorite brand of polish and why?
That's a tough question...I love the toppers from Essence,I love the coverage of Catrice,I adore the liquid sand from P2
and O.P.I.
I think that I love them all!!!

- Who is your favorite nail artist on Youtube? (if you have any)
I like watching YouTube tutorials but I don't have a specific nail artist that I like...it's the design that fascinates me and I watch their videos

- Why do you like belonging to NPQ ? (i hope you do like it :))

Who told you that I like it???
I love it...all that interaction with people from all over the world is just great!!!
Where people don't judge you, they support you and even if your nail art is crappy they find a nice word to say to encourage you to continue further more than your limits...It doesn't matter if your mani is a WTF or a failure, always some funny comment will make your day...
I could write an essay for NPQ but it's better to stop now before I become too tiring!!! :)
