NPQ Meet-up: Sarah and Mags fun weekend

It was long overdue but it finally happened! +Sarah Short came to visit me, +Magali Neuville-Bisceglia in Strasbourg, France. And it was as awesome as expected!

Sarah and I became friends through our love of polish and nail art, and also by being your owners/moderators, and this weekend we finally had the chance to hang out like 2 crazy Queens in the hunt for polish, summer colors, neons and french pastries! Here's the tale of our great weekend:

She arrived on Thursday July 3rd at 7pm at Strasbourg train station. As soon as she got off the train it was like 2 old friends reuniting even if we had never met in real life.
3 days of non-stop chatting, laughing and shopping ensued, as you can imaging!
On the way home we had diner and chatted about NPQ, polish, life...those little things that make us friends.

Mags & Sarah en route for some serious polish shopping

Then on Friday, we planned a sunny trip to Kehl, Germany, which is just next door to Strasbourg, but where polishes are cheap and shiny!

Having a chat in Kehl, in the sun and heat after hitting the shops

After serious damages we headed home to load off the treasures we found and then went back out for more hunting, this time in one of Strasbourg mall and a KIKO of course!
We already acquired that many polishes and we were not done yet!
Finally made it to KIKO....

...and Sarah couldn't resist!

Then, you know, it was cake and coke time! So we did damages there too :)
All that time still yapping like teenagers during sleepovers!

Cake, Coke and Chatting time

Then it was time to head home to watch the World Cup game France vs Germany. OK France didn't win and that sucked as I wished Sarah would have lived a crazy night of people partying and honking and making noises but oh well, we just chatted some more and then went and did our nails.

I wanted her to do a gradient as she is the Gradient Queen, and she wanted me to do dots, as i'm the Dot Goddess LOL We both did manis inspired by each other's mani of the past. And how fun was it to do each others nails, of course while chatting and laughing all along :)

Waking up on Saturday was rough, but at 10am we decided it was time to start our second day of crazy shopping and cake eating and more chatting!

French breakfast

This time we hit Strasbourg city center and not even some rain could stop us! Plus Sarah is British, she's used to the rain ;p

At Sephora in front of OPI

Just looking coz fuck Sephora!

Nope she won't look at the second KIKO shop, oh but she did!

We hit more polish shops but we also went for clothes and accessories shopping and of course more cake & coke!

For diner we went to my favorite place to hang to eat some 'tartes flambées' a regional meal or should i say a delicious regional meal!
Then more cake coz why the Hell not we were on vacation! Then we had to get home for the NPQ hangout which was so much fun, as usual!

But chatting for 2 hours with our fellow Queens wasn't enough apparently because we ended up chatting some more, till 3am whoops!

That brought us to Sunday morning, emerging very slowly around 10h30. We just chilled at home (well chilled with crazy hot weather) until it was already time to go back to the train station. More chatting on the tramway and at the station, and it was time to say goodbye!

Last selfie at the train station!

We had a wonderful time and we hope to reiterate the experience one day!

NPQ Meet-Up - Mags and Sandy meet

On Sunday April 13th +Sandy Kiriaki went to Strasbourg and met up with +Magali Neuville-Bisceglia . The two Queens enjoyed the sunny afternoon chatting and strolling the city.

Mags & Sandy

Sandy decided to spend her day off in Strasbourg with 2 friends and contacted Mags to see if she'd like to meet up. Needless to say Mags said yes and they met up at the Cathedral and went for a tour of the city. Unfortunately the shops are closed on Sundays here. But that doesn't stop Queens to have polish involved in the meet-up :)

Sandy arrived and got Mags a bunch of polishes:

A magnet, Essence, P2, Manhattan and Catrice polishes

And Mags got Sandy her Barry M - Teal that Sandy was eyeing for so long:

Their stroll brought them in front of the famous KIKO shop and they couldn't not take a pic for souvenir even if the shop was desperately closed!

The afternoon was very nice, sunny and fun. Then there was the obligatory coffee shop stop and then Sandy started showing Mags what she always have in her purse, as a true NPQueen:

Remover, polishes, base/top coat , file and cotton pads, Sandy purse is a nail salon on the go!
Sandy actually did her nails in the car on the way to Strasbourg ha! True NPQueen or what?!
They both had a great time and it is not impossible the experience will be renewed a day that shops are opened (just saying ;) )

NPQ Meet-up - Sarah and Keely go shopping

On Saturday March 15th 2014, +Sarah Short and +Keely Gallagher met up for the first time and decided (like any NPQueen would) to go polish shopping. This is the first time NPQ brought people together in real life and it is so nice to see that our community is spawning friendship all over the world.

Without further ado let's hear the story of their meeting told by Keely:

"It was so much fun. We found each other and had a look at each other's manis. After we checked out Boots and Poundland, I showed Sarah all the places to find the good nail polish in TK Maxx which is where I found some Seche Base for £4 and convinced to till assistant to get the bottle of SV that was on the shelf with it (she put it aside for herself). Sarah showed me the 2True polishes she loves for stamping and we found gorgeous flakies in Urban Outfitters where Sarah nabbed a grey-black holo that looks to be a near dupe for Color Club Beyond for less than half the price it should have been."

The damages are done and boy do a NPQueen knows how to shop, but 2 together, watch out!

"We both got Revlon Gold Coast (a sheer gold shimmer), WIP Mermaid (pale turquoise flakie) and the Revlon double ended brush for cleanup that Mary Daniel recommended. I also chose WIP Angel Dust (pale pink flakie), Chit Chat Rio (multi coloured glitter), 2True Metallica Arete (pale green foil) and the Seche Base."

More goodies for our Queens

"It was so great polish shopping who totally speaks the same language - we spotted dupes and reviewed brush quality. I showed Sarah my Dropbox full of mani photos and we chose my Throwback for next week featuring a polish Sarah bought in Boots. "

Then they had an obligatory pit-stop at a café to chit chat some more and admire their new treasures. People were looking at them weird for having so many polishes and swatching it like that in a café, gotta be an NPQueens to just don't care!

The pretty Keely at the café

"Over chocolate cake we checked out our hauls and swatched the flakies which turned out to be very similar to Essie Shine of the Times / Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure over the dark base Sarah had on. We were getting a few looks but didn't care!"

Sarah's massive haul of 21 polishes

That looked like a perfectly nice afternoon and definitely want us to meet more NPQueens!!
