It was long overdue but it finally happened! +Sarah Short came to visit me, +Magali Neuville-Bisceglia in Strasbourg, France. And it was as awesome as expected!
Sarah and I became friends through our love of polish and nail art, and also by being your owners/moderators, and this weekend we finally had the chance to hang out like 2 crazy Queens in the hunt for polish, summer colors, neons and french pastries! Here's the tale of our great weekend:
She arrived on Thursday July 3rd at 7pm at Strasbourg train station. As soon as she got off the train it was like 2 old friends reuniting even if we had never met in real life.
3 days of non-stop chatting, laughing and shopping ensued, as you can imaging!
On the way home we had diner and chatted about NPQ, polish, life...those little things that make us friends.
Mags & Sarah en route for some serious polish shopping |
Then on Friday, we planned a sunny trip to Kehl, Germany, which is just next door to Strasbourg, but where polishes are cheap and shiny!
Having a chat in Kehl, in the sun and heat after hitting the shops |
After serious damages we headed home to load off the treasures we found and then went back out for more hunting, this time in one of Strasbourg mall and a KIKO of course!
We already acquired that many polishes and we were not done yet! |
Finally made it to KIKO.... |
...and Sarah couldn't resist! |
Then, you know, it was cake and coke time! So we did damages there too :)
All that time still yapping like teenagers during sleepovers!
Cake, Coke and Chatting time |
Then it was time to head home to watch the World Cup game France vs Germany. OK France didn't win and that sucked as I wished Sarah would have lived a crazy night of people partying and honking and making noises but oh well, we just chatted some more and then went and did our nails.
I wanted her to do a gradient as she is the Gradient Queen, and she wanted me to do dots, as i'm the Dot Goddess LOL We both did manis inspired by each other's mani of the past. And how fun was it to do each others nails, of course while chatting and laughing all along :)
Waking up on Saturday was rough, but at 10am we decided it was time to start our second day of crazy shopping and cake eating and more chatting!
French breakfast |
This time we hit Strasbourg city center and not even some rain could stop us! Plus Sarah is British, she's used to the rain ;p

At Sephora in front of OPI |
Just looking coz fuck Sephora! |
Nope she won't look at the second KIKO shop, oh but she did! |
We hit more polish shops but we also went for clothes and accessories shopping and of course more cake & coke!
For diner we went to my favorite place to hang to eat some 'tartes flambées' a regional meal or should i say a delicious regional meal!
Then more cake coz why the Hell not we were on vacation! Then we had to get home for the NPQ hangout which was so much fun, as usual!
But chatting for 2 hours with our fellow Queens wasn't enough apparently because we ended up chatting some more, till 3am whoops!
That brought us to Sunday morning, emerging very slowly around 10h30. We just chilled at home (well chilled with crazy hot weather) until it was already time to go back to the train station. More chatting on the tramway and at the station, and it was time to say goodbye!
Last selfie at the train station! |
We had a wonderful time and we hope to reiterate the experience one day!
